An Exceptional Roast

This lot comes from and estate farm in Kiambu County, one of Kenya’s most celebrated growing regions. Grown at 1,650 meters in volcanic soil, the cherries ripen slowly in cool highland air, developing vibrant flavor and natural sweetness.

Natural process Kenyan coffees are rare. Drying the cherries with the fruit intact concentrates the sugars and creates a fuller body, deeper complexity, and pronounced fruit character.

Cultivated with Care

SL28 and SL34 are heirloom Bourbon selections known for their citrusy brightness and clarity. Ruiru 11, a modern cultivar, adds structure and resilience. Together, they create a cup that is both elegant and powerful.

KIAMBU gives back to the community by supporting workers with housing, fair wages, union membership, and access to education through local partnerships.

The Finished Cup

Medium roasted to preserve complexity and balance, this cup opens with citrus and stone fruit, rounds out with apricot, and finishes with dark chocolate and sweet cherry.

Each batch is third-party lab tested to meet Danger Coffee standards. It’s clean, mold-free, and upgraded with trace minerals and electrolytes that energize you at the cellular level.

Sustainable keepsake packaging

A limited roast just for the holidays, KIAMBU comes in a fully compostable bag, designed to protect flavor and freshness while supporting better choices for the planet.

Wrapped in a collector's tin showcasing art from Kenyan visual artist, Yegonizer – this Holiday Roast is perfect for gifting and sharing this season.

The Artist Behind the Label

A Kenyan visual artist, Yegonizer’s vibrant approach employs vivid and lively acrylic paint to showcase his subjects.

Yegonizer trained in his craft at the Buruburu Institute of Fine Art. His artwork has been showcased at the Nairobi National Museum, Little Art Gallery in Nairobi, Cultural Heritage Arusha, and the Kigali City Tower.

HOW DO I MAKE THIS COFFEE?

For a perfect cup, brew 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 8 ounces of water.

Brew the coffee using a pour over method and use the 4 minutes of brew time to be mindful and enjoy the ritual! If you want to be fancy, a vacuum pot is also an option.
