What Makes Nyeri Special

Grown on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya, up to 2,200 meters, where cold nights slow the cherry and concentrate everything inside it.

Grapefruit. Caramel. Nutmeg. Clean.

But what matters more is who grew it, hundreds of smallholders across Nyeri, picking by hand, delivering to the same washing station.

You taste that kind of care.

Shaped by Altitude

Nyeri sits high on the volcanic slopes of Mount Kenya, where altitude slows the cherry down.
Heirloom varieties, hand-picked by smallholder farmers and dried slowly on raised beds.
That care shows up in the cup.

The Finished Cup

Medium roasted to bring out its natural character.
Caramel and nutmeg.
Juicy grapefruit citrus.
Sugary sweetness, sparkling acidity.
Finishing in brown sugar and baking spice.
Each batch is third-party lab tested, mold-free and toxin-free, so what reaches your cup is only what belongs there.

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

This isn’t packaging you throw away.

Ceremonial Grade Idjwi comes in a keepsake tin, something you hold onto, even after the coffee is gone.

Inside, a compostable bag helps keep the coffee fresh.

Simple. Thoughtful. Made to last.

The Artist Behind the Label

Every ceremonial release begins with a story.

Cyprian Kiswili was six when he started drawing. His parents bought him drawing books and watercolors. Years later his father asked one hard question, is this really what you want? and Cyprian has spent his life answering it.

He builds from what's already been used: paper, recycled African fabric, bold color, deep texture. A city's noise, and the quiet a person finds inside it.

This piece isn't decoration.

It's a story, translated by hand.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN MY REGULAR DANGER COFFEE?

Danger Ceremonial Grade Coffee is an elevated brew and drinking experience. IDJWI is ultra-premium and also very limited. There are only 1,300 units of the product so once they're sold, that's it!

HOW DO I MAKE THIS COFFEE?

For a perfect cup, brew 2 tablespoons of coffee for every 8 ounces of water.

Brew the coffee using a pour over method and use the 4 minutes of brew time to be mindful and enjoy the ritual! If you want to be fancy, a vacuum pot is also an option.
